- 2 child norm the limit for Rohingya towns
- Authorities in Myanmar’s western Rakhine State have introduced a two-child limit for Muslim Rohingya families after a spate of deadly violence between Muslims and Buddhists

- Saudi Arabia has assured India that it would continue to encourage regulated flow of foreign workers, within the framework of its labour reforms that hope to contain the country’s “youth bulge” by generating employment for hundreds of thousands of Saudi nationals in the future.

- Tiger reserve status for rajaji park
- The Union government has given the nod to a proposal to grant the Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand the status of a tiger reserve. It will be the second tiger reserve in the State after the Corbett National Park.

- India – Australia pact to create skilled farm workforce
- India and Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and strengthen cooperation in skills training in agriculture and related sectors. The project involves exchange of experts with Australia to assist Sector Skill Councils in India for producing a skilled workforce in the farm sector. Similar collaborations will be reached in retail, mining, telecommunications and media/entertainment. 7
- The industry-driven programme in public-private partnership mode is aimed at bringing youth into the agriculture sector and equipping them with innovative skills to become knowledgeable and entrepreneurial.
- The agreement “involves setting up Labour Market Information Systems, identification of skills development needs, developing skill competency standards and qualification, standardisation of accreditation-process, participation in certification, training of trainers and promotion of academies of excellence.”
- The MoU — signed by CEO of Agriculture Skill Council of India Satender Arya and CEO of AgriFood Skills, Australia, Arthur Blewitt — will promote cooperation in creating quality occupational, training, assessment, certification, and information and stakeholder engagement standards.
