• Indian Airborne early warning system
  • The first indigenously built aircraft for the indigenously built Indian airborne early warning and control system (AEW&C) undertook its maiden flight in Brazil.
  • After evaluation two of these will be introduced in the IAF by 2013
    
    
• Russia proposed a way out of the tightened NSG rules
  • Russia has offered to host an ENR unit on its soil and offered shares to India, which will enable Russia not to violate the international norms and also comply with the Indian obligation.
    
    
• New countries to identify black money hoarders in IBSA nations
  • The government has set up an electronic centre unit in the finance ministry to deal with the unaccounted money issue in the IBSA countries.
  • This new unit will deal with these governments in exchanging information on tax evaders and black money in IBSA nations
  • The revenue authorities will study the latest trends in tax evasion, abuse of taxation laws, and the trends that has evolved to avoid taxes.
  • They will also help in tracking black money flow in this country
  • It will also facilitate best practices and experiences in tax administration to combat abusive tax schemes.
  • Already prosecution has been launched against 17 cases pertaining to LTG bank in Germany.
