- Australia woos Indian students with new post study – work deal
- The Australian government has review the Knight review of the student visa programme.
- As per the Knight review recommendations all students who have spent atleast two academic years studying will be given two years of work right, research graduates three years of work right and for the P.hd students four years of work right.
- Parliamentary panel wants domestic workers brought under the bill against sexual harassment
- India has voted in favour of the ILO's decent work for domestic workers.
- The definition of the employee, employer and work place should be changed to bring the domestic workers within the bill.
- Blow to Aadhar project as bill is rejected
- The parliamentary committee has rejected the National Identification Authority of India bill, to give legal authority to Aadhar project
- The bill is rejected because of the projects high cost, concerns regarding national security, privacy and duplication of the National population register's authority.
- CAG Vinod Rai elected U.N external audit panel chief
- India's CAG has been elected as the the chairman of the panel external auditor of the united nations.
- Apart from Rai, Jagbans Singh the director general has been elected as the chairman of the technical group of the panel.
- Bills on CWC and Exim bank introduced
- A bill seeking the mini ratna company Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) an independent body without government being the guarantor was introduced in the Lok shabha.
- The government also introduced another bill to increase the authorised capital of the export import bank of India (EXIM) from Rs.2000 crore to Rs. 10,000 crore.
